SPEED

“Tachyon” is a term used to describe theoretical particles that travel faster than light. It was coined in 1967 from the Greek word “tachys” meaning “swift.”

“Most physicists believe that faster-than-light particles cannot exist because they are not consistent with the known laws of physics,” states Dr. Michael Clarke and Dr. Stephen Quake, co-founders of Tachyon Therapeutics. “However, theories have postulated that an object with negative mass might be capable of traveling faster than the velocity of light. Such an object might still yet be discovered.”

At Tachyon Therapeutics, we are pushing the boundaries of innovative science to create novel therapeutics to address unmet needs in cancer patients. Just as discovery of the tachyon particle awaits; perhaps an end to cancer is also within the realm of discoveries and possibilities in the not-too-distant future.
